Ten Tips for Prospecting
10 Tips for Prospecting
Hey, everyone. Welcome to my video real estate blog! Today I wanted to talk about prospecting.
I personally follow the Mike Ferry System and part of that system revolves heavily around prospecting. Prospecting is what grows your business; so today I wanted to touch on a few key points.
1. Schedule time in the morning to make calls. From the time you get to the office until noon, you should dedicate your time to prospecting. Make sure to be media free: turn off the TV and don’t check your email. Give all your focus to calling.
2. Be consistent. You can’t skip a day. To see tremendous results you have to call every morning, every day.
3. Source your business.
4. Go out and find business! You need to go out and create your own success; don’t wait for it to come to you! Find people who want to list their homes!
5. Create a routine:
1. Schedule a set time to wake up every morning.
2. Affirm your goals every morning; know what you are working for.
3. Make sure you practice; role-play and memorize your scripts.
4. Have a clean environment. Clear your desk and be organized.
5. Make contacts everyday. Set a goal for the minimum amount of contacts you will make.
6. Overcome your fear. You need to internalize and memorize scripts. I promise once you know what to say and how to react in situations, you won’t get objections. People will hear the confidence in your voice!
7. Know whom to call. Call past clients, center of interest, expired listings, for sale by owners and just sold clients.
8. Create a great environment. Get excited about building your business; make it fun. Get a partner who will help keep you motivated! Remember to track your numbers. You will be thrilled when you see the tremendous difference in your business when consistently calling.
9. Have a positive attitude. Consider this quote “There is someone who will buy or sell real estate today and I will find them.”
10. Don’t get discouraged. A lot of agents dread hearing ‘no’ but remember for every ‘no’ you are getting one step closer to a ‘yes.’ You are building experience!
