Do you know what you want to accomplish in 2014?
My team and I just concluded a meeting about creating a business plan for 2014 and simple goal setting. I also wanted to recap last year; you won’t know where you’re going unless you look at where you came from. This means finding where your business came from and what the source of the business was so it can be predictable and duplicable. Being able to replicate that business and adding to it is crucial.
Next, we talked about setting goals and knowing how many transactions to accomplish next year by understanding your schedule and days prospecting to make that happen. Part of what makes this plan happen is knowing how many days out of the year you will be working; this is important to know from the beginning.
When we look at our 2014 business plan, you need to realize that is equally business and personal goals. What do you want to accomplish? This can be outlined in a five year plan. For personal goals, look at where you want to be financially, spiritually, emotionally and physically. How do you see yourself in those categories five years from now?
As for a business plan, I make it very simple; visit www.mikeferry.com and use the complementary business plans. Start by recapping your production from the previous year, what your specific goals are for 2014 and then break down the numbers to find out how that will look. If you’re a buyer’s agent, how many buyer sales do you want to have? If you’re a listing agent, how many listings sold do you want? If you’re a regular agent doing both, how many listing sales versus buyer sales do you want to have? These goals need to be written down. Also, be sure to know your projected income, projected expenses, average commission, average sales price, etc. so you have a very easy plan to follow.
Be sure to watch for my next report from my next meeting with my team! If you know anyone who is looking to buy or sell, please have them contact me. Thanks and have a great day!
